It's hard to find tasty Nyonya kuih in town. It's either too sweet, lack in fragrance or the texture of it wasn't right. This plate of nyonya kuih is bought at the market near my house and it's pretty good, not the best but better than none. I am glad there are still stalls around my neighbourhood selling this traditional cake. ;-)) Have you come across this in Holland and do you like them?
The kuih looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteHere in the Netherlands the Indonesian shops do sell kuih. Often though, they are not fresh and look like they have been kept for days.
The Vietnamese stall used to sell some coconut sprinkle kuih. It was not bad. However she closed her shop recently due to lack of customers.
