We love long weekends and this year, believe it or not, we have 6 long weekends. Some may not understand what i meant here by long weekends but in Malaysia, when a public holiday or state holiday falls on a Friday or a Sunday, then Monday is a replacement holiday, we, the full-time labourers gets a long weekend automatically (i.e 3 days off from work in a row)! :-D
Well, we enjoyed our 2nd last long weekend for the year being the recent one was Sultan of Selangor's birthday. Hubby's and my office is located under Selangor state, so we get to enjoy today (i.e Monday) off. Strangely enough, it does felt like a long weekend this time round as we spent it mainly lazing at home. We did some window shopping and a few rounds of of groceries shopping and marketing, mainly because hubby invited his colleague and his wife over to our place for dinner on Sunday night, hence the few rounds of groceries shopping and marketing.
We bought pineapple and papaya as dessert. As for dinner, hubby prepared 4 dishes and one soup, namely steam fish belly with mushrooms and ginger in oyster sauce, steam pork ribs in bean sauce, stir fry chinese lettuce in fermented bean sauce, tomato with prawns in egg sauce and a mint soup with minced pork, fish cake and egg. We were glad our guests enjoyed the meal.
Here are some pictures:-
We look forward to the coming weekends as we already have plans in line. We plan to make a trip to Seremban for durian and crab next Sunday. Then, it's the Christmas long weekend where we plan to have a gathering with my aunts whom is coming from Taiping. On the new year eve weekend, we plan to travel North. I already have laksa in my mind!
Hope our plans will materialise and i will not forget to share the good food in pictures here! Till then, hope everyone had a great weekend!
He he. Can we book in advance a meal during Chinese New Year with Chef Kaie?
